About
Every Sun Is Artificial follows the promise of bringing the sun down to Earth. Through nuclear fusion and the ambition to manufacture a star, the video examines how energy becomes a claim to sovereignty. Who owns an artificial sun? Who controls the worlds that depend on it? Within the speculative world of SOVRA, the work approaches the artificial sun as both a source of power and an image of authority, binding the promise of abundance to the desire to rule.
Every Sun Is Artificial begins with a two-year obsession: filming sunsets, collecting digital suns and finding the star in images that only resemble it. Personal recordings, found footage and animation form a library of suns through which the video essay traces the star’s transformation into a god, a sovereign and an energy resource.

A synthetic female voice gradually takes over, speaking for SOVRA, a fictional corporate neomonarchy whose ambition is to build an artificial sun. Solar mythology becomes a technological manifesto, then a search for land and infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Borrowing the seductive language of startup pitches and political promises, the work draws the viewer into a vision of energy sovereignty, while leaving its costs, exclusions and claims to power unresolved.
